The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language

CENTRE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION (CIE)

The Vladimir State University has been training foreign students since 1978. The University graduates work in 64 countries. At present foreign citizens from 40 countries receive education at the University. The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language has been part of the University since 1981. The teachers’ task is teaching foreign students Russian language at different faculties of the University and at the Center of Pre-university Training, where foreign students study Russian from the very beginning.

The Centre of International Education (CIE) of Vladimir State University realizes functions connected with the ensuring of activity on enrollment of foreign citizens for tuition, admitting in the University, organization and control of educational process, passport-visa support of the foreign citizens and registration in a place of residing, organization of cultural-mass actions and pedagogical work, and ensuring for foreign citizens of entrance in Russian Federation and departure at home in legal order.

Main tasks of CIE are following:

ensuring of activity on enrollment of the foreign citizens for tuition at the University;
(together with an entrance commission) organization of admission of the foreign citizens;
(together with dean’s offices of faculties) organization and control of educational process of the foreign students;
(together with students’ hostels) control of observance by the foreign students of rules of stay and residing of the foreign citizens in territory of Russian Federation;
organizational ensuring of departure of the foreign citizens graduated or dismissed from the University.

CIE with the purposes of realization of the tasks carried out the following functions:

realization of advices with the department of international cooperation of Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation on tuition of foreign specialists and receiving of directive documents on tuition, residing etc. of foreign citizens in Russian Federation from subdivisions of Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation;
ensuring of enrollment and admission of the foreign citizens, arriving to the University for tuition;
formalizing for the foreign citizens invitations for entrance to the Russian Federation, visas and registration at the place of residing;
organization together with an entrance commission (in case of necessity) of entrance examinations for arrived foreign citizens;
preparation for the foreign citizens of the individual contracts on rendering of educational and additional services on a compensatory base;
explanation to the foreign students of the order of tuition in Russian Federation of citizens of foreign countries, rules of stay and residing of the foreign citizens at the territory of Russian Federation;
formalizing of the documents and preparation of the orders about admission of the foreign students in the University together with an entrance commission;
participation together with students’ hostels in accommodation of arrived foreign citizens in a hostel of University;
control together with dean’s offices of the basic faculties of University behind the current progress in studies of the foreign students and passing of the practices;
interactions with organizations of foreign students on questions connected with tuition, household conditions and safety of the foreign students;
organization together with the appropriate subdivisions of university of dispanserization, insurance and health services of the foreign students;
assistance together with other subdivisions of university to acquaintance of the foreign students with culture and traditions of the peoples of Russian Federation;
organization and realization of extracurricular and cultural-mass work with the foreign students;
organization of work on connections with the foreign graduates of university and assistance in increasing of their qualification.
